about grounded

Group of people participating in a fitness class, holding small black exercise balls, in a room with large windows and wooden beams.

Grounded is a modern Pilates studio in Huddersfield and Oldham, built on the belief that high-quality movement should be accessible and affordable for everyone.

With roots in clinical practice, we combine expert-led Pilates with an inclusive, down-to-earth approach.

In all we do we want to help every body we meet move better, feel stronger, and be part of a supportive community.

With beginnings in an upstairs physio room in Align Chiropractic & Physio, Grounded became Oldham’s first dedicated Pilates studio when it opened its doors in 2024.

We now offer a variety of classes (including yoga in Oldham) across 7 days a week and have been delighted to be a part of so many people’s journey to better movement and stronger bodies!

Meet the Team

our FIVE TEACHING PRINCIPLES

We are delighted to have compassionate teachers who are all appropriately qualified, passionate and excellent at teaching.

Whilst we know each teacher will be different and bring a unique set of skills to their classes, we expect each class to follow these five principles to ensure that everyone has a quality and consistent experience with Grounded.

1.We Teach Understanding

Everyone should leave a class understanding what they worked, why it matters and how it can help their daily life!

2. We Are Warm, But Professional

We are friendly and supportive but that does not mean our standards are casual or we will not challenge you.

3. We Build Long-Term Bodies

We prioritise building supple spines, resilient hips, a stable core and a nervous system that feels safe. How you feel matters far more than how you look!

4. We Make Pilates Accessible Without Diluting It

We start by being beginner friendly then teach using the 6 core principles of Pilates with exercises that are layered, adaptable and progressive.

5. We Care About the Person, Not the Session

We get to know our community- names, injuries, goals and any life stresses you share. We use these in teaching and we celebrate your wins!
